Police officer career

A police officer on the beat or in the patrol car is familiar figure on the American scene. Each police officer wears a belt that carries all the police equipment they need during their working day such as gun, baton, handcuffs, notepad, and radio. Some police departments use the straight baton, and others use an expandable straight baton.

Police agencies are always looking for men and women who can effectively serve their fellow citizens. There are several career choices include municipal police officer, deputy sheriff, federal agents in various bureaus, military police officer, and criminal investigator. Police officer is one of the few careers where you are constantly learning and facing new challenges. If you're planning a police career, go to local police department and ask about the physical requirements to join their force. The most important quality of a successful police officer is his ability to call upon his intellect and training in situations that might cause the lay person to react in an irrational and emotional way.
